I learned to play on a Harmony (not a Sovereign; just Harmony) all-mahogany guitar my mother bought me for $20 in 1961 or thereabouts. It was used; a couple of years later I visited a friend who had a Harmony Sovereign that he had gotten for $40; I envied him his guitar: bigger and with a spruce top. Your Harmony Sovereign is the Model H 1203 'Grand Concert Special' (Western Special) and it was discontinued in 1972. Yours was made in 1969 I believe, and the value is; Excellent Condition: $550.00 to $650.00 USD. Average Condition: $350.00 to $425.00 USD.
60's Harmony Sovereign 1260
Produced from 1958 to 1971, this jumbo sized powerhouse was the flagship acoustic model for the Harmony guitar company. Even the Gibson J-200 couldn't compare to the Harmony's booming bass and piercing tone, much of which was contributed to it's ladder braced construction.
This is one of my war horses that I use on stage from time to time.. It's 'war scars' are deceptive as the repairs are intact, the playability is fine and the tone has that deep growl that you'd expect from a Harmony Jumbo guitar. Mahogany back and sides, ladder braced solid spruce top with a pin bridge. The tuners aren't original but everything else is there. Harmony Sovereign Guitar CraigslistI literally wrote this instrumental about 30 minutes before shooting the video so, like the guitar, it has a few 'dents' in it.. but the energy is there. I call this piece 'The Sovereign Boogie.'
Rock stars Jimmy Page and Pete Townsend made good use of them as well

Dear Guest:
You have the Make, Model Number, and Serial Number, all you really need now is the year of manufacture. Ergo, once you have this your best bet (to get an acturate estimate as to it's fair market value) is to go to Barnes & Nobles or another good book store and look it up in the 'Blue Book for Electric Guitars' latest edition, check the copywrite date. This will give you a good fair market value for your guitar based upon it's condition. Good Luck, kcbuck P.S. Year of manufacture could be on the base of the neck or coded within the guitar's serial number. If not, you'll have to contact the manufacturer with the serial number to get the year of manufacture. Not an electric guitar? Then use the 'Blue Book for Acoustic Guitars' latest edition.

Look inside the guitar for a smal blue stamp that will have either an 'F' or and 'S' followed by a dash and two numbers. The two numbers are the date of manufacture.
